Bucs’ Devin White takes shot at Saints’ Jameis Winston: ‘We just knew he was going to give the ball’

Tempers flared in Sunday’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints, and the rivalry and ultra-competitiveness continued when the game was over.

Buccaneers linebacker Devin White fired off an interesting comment about Saints quarterback Jameis Winston after Tampa Bay won the game, 20-10.

Even though the game was tight, White said all his team had to do was wait for Winston to make a mistake. He referenced the 30 interceptions Winston had in 2019 before he left the Bucs and joined the Saints.

“When Jameis left our team, everybody knew what he did last year. And we thought we had a good defense, and he threw 30 picks,” White said. “We just know they’re going to give the ball, we know the running backs are coughing. That’s what we do. We want 30 turnovers as a ball club, so it’s just another game to attack the ball. .”

The Buccaneers capitalized on a big Winston mistake.

Tom Brady had a go-ahead touchdown pass to Breshad Perriman in the fourth quarter and then Mike Edwards would return an interception for a touchdown.

Winston had three interceptions in the game. He did not have a win in the team’s Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons.
